Image, February 9, 2005.
The snow cover from
several days of snow is evident on this image.
The western edge of
the snow cover stretches from the northeast corner of Nebraska
to near McCook, Nebraska.
The unfrozen surface of the lakes in Kansas are evident as dark
areas surrounded by
snow cover. The Platte River is clearly evident as a dark curving
line in
eastern Nebraska.
Both Lincoln and Omaha are also evident as darker areas (i.e. less snow
covered surface than
the open rural areas). The Missouri river north of the
South Dakota/Nebraska
border is ice covered and white.
There is a small patch
of clouds in south central Nebraska.
