There have been 2,294 reported tornadoes in Nebraska during the period 1950-2004.  The above graph shows the total number of tornadoes during that time period during each hour of the day.   The peak frequency is at 1700 hours (5 PM Central Standard Time or 6 PM Daylight Savings Time). 

84.0% of all Nebraska tornadoes have occurred between 2 PM and 9:59 PM.
72.6% of all Nebraska tornadoes have occurred between 3 PM and 8:59 PM.
64.1% of all Nebraska tornadoes have occurred between 4 PM and 8:59 PM.
41.8% of all Nebraska tornadoes have occurred between 5 PM and 7:59 PM.

The year 2001 saw the first tornado observed during the 8:00-8:59 AM CST hour.
