Killer Tornado in Alberta, Canada
A powerful tornado occurred at the Green Acres campground at Pine Lake, Alberta Friday evening, July 14, 2000.  It was crowded with over 1000 campers at a popular vacation spot and at least 10 people were killed.  This makes it the 4th deadliest tornado to hit Canada.

Canada is ranked #2 in the world for frequency of tornadoes and Alberta averages about 14 tornadoes per year.   Tornadoes are the most frequent in May and June in Nebraska, however on the northern edge of the Prairies, the peak frequency is in July and August.
