December 8, 2005 Snow Cover

Satellite Image, with totally clear skies showing the snow cover in our region.

This satellite image is from December 8, 2005.  There were no clouds in the photographed area.
Note the darker unfrozen lakes in Kansas.  The Platte river can be seen in Nebraska appearing as a dark
curving line due to the lack of ice and snow cover on the river.  Lincoln and Omaha can be located on
the image as slightly darker areas due to the large number of streets and surface areas which have had snow removed.

Satellite Image, showing the snow cover in our region and clouds off to the east.

This satellite image is from December 8, 2005.  There were no clouds in the region except for Iowas and
far easter Missouri.  Note the southern edge of the snow covered area where it is much darker in
Southwest Kansas and Central Missouri.
