VERY RARE

years of weather data keeping in Lincoln, Nebraska,
not a single flake of snow fell
on Lincoln during the month of December.
With mild spring-like weather
expected through the end of the month,
no snowfall is expected to occur

occurring only 2 times since
December 1899. A trace occurs when there are
snow flurries, but not enough
snowfall to measure.
These two years with just snow
flurries were:
December 1928 observed a trace
of snow (un-measurable snow flurries) AND,
December 1991 observed a trace
of snow (un-measurable snow flurries)
This year, 2004, we have
NOT even had a trace of snow flurries.
No snow of any kind, not even
snow flurries, has fallen during the entire month.
This has never occurred in the 106 year snowfall climate record for Lincoln, Nebraska.
Where has it snowed? Texas.
Texas had its first White Christmas since the 1800's along the gulf.
