3 Year Precipitation Assessment U.S.

September 1, 2003 - August 31, 2006

Recent rains are helping to alleviate the drought across much of the U.S.
However, as of August 31, 2006 there are still areas that have 36 month deficits
exceeding 20 inches of precipitation.

The following maps show the departure from normal in inches, the percent of normal and
actual precipitation for the 36-month period September 1, 2003 through August 31, 2006.
