Why are there three different averages listed?

1.  The 1950, 1951 and 1952 data are highly suspect and too low to be
     accurate.  However the 1950-1952 data are in the archive and listed
     here with an average including the data.

2.  The second average excludes the early 3 years of suspect data.

3.  The third average, 1971-2004 is the last 34 years and more representative of
     the recent climate.
