July Precipitation Rankings

Precipitation in July was all about location in the High Plains Region. Areas in central Colorado and into southern and western Wyoming had precipitation totals range between 1.0-3.0 inches (25-76 mm) above normal. While the eastern portions of Kansas, Nebraska, and South Dakota precipitation totals ranged between 2.0-5.0 inches (51-127 mm) below normal. Omaha, NE had its driest July on record only getting 0.01 inch (2.5 mm) of precipitation, which is 3.82 inches (97 mm) below normal. Norfolk, NE did not record any precipitation in July making it the driest on record and 3.32 inches (84 mm) below normal. In central Colorado, where it was wetter, Colorado Springs had a precipitation total of 3.56 inches (90 mm) which was 0.72 inches (18 mm) above normal.
