June Precipitation Rankings

June was a drier than normal month for much of the High Plains Region. Areas in Colorado and Wyoming had precipitation totals that ranged between 1.0-2.0 inches (25-51 mm) below normal. Central and northeastern Nebraska, southeastern South Dakota, and southeastern Kansas had precipitation totals that ranged from 3.0-5.0+ inches (76-127+ mm) below normal. Sioux Falls, South Dakota had its 2nd driest June on record only having 0.74 inches (19 mm), which is about 3.2 inches (81 mm) below normal. Some areas in the Region did receive greater than normal precipitation totals. Concordia, Kansas had 4.72 inches (120 mm) of precipitation, which is almost 0.7 of an inch (18 mm) above normal.
